Dachshund On a Mission: A Sunday Drive

I love going for a drive with my family.  Looking out the window, feeling the sun shine through the windows, and the air conditioning on my face.  Watching all the crazy people mowing their grass, having barbeques and running around like a bunch of lunatics. 

In case you didn't know, weiner dog's like going for car rides.  I actually LOVE it!  I like to put on the puppy eyes and the little wimper when I feel the family is about to go out.  Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 

Today it worked!  We just drove around the country roads for a few minutes.  I look out the front window, then the side, then the front again.

The farmers are harvesting their crops early this year because of the drought.  The leaves are orange, red, green and gold.  Autumn is my favorite time of year. 

Playing Dead or Laying Out in the Sun?

There is nothing like laying out in the sun on a warm October day.  80 degrees, the sun is shinning, the birds are chirping and the ground is nice and cool.  Don't get me wrong!  I love living in the house and enjoying all of the comforts of central air, but on a nice fall day nothing beats sitting outside.  I could just lay there for hours basking in the rays of sunshine. 

A nice nap in the sun is just what the vet ordered.

Mom checks on me every now and then making sure I am ok.  But she knows sooner or later I will come scratching on the door ready to come in. 

So no matter if your dog is an inside dog or not, every dog needs some time outside able to get some exercise, some personal space and some sunshine.
